Bhukungu Rally Kicks Off As ODM Leader Raila Odinga Arrives

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Raila Odinga has arrived in Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega County for his Azimio la Umoja meeting with Luhya community.

Raila, who arrived at the Stadium 10 minutes to 1pm on Friday, is expected to be endorsed by a section of Luhya leaders as their preferred presidential candidate for 2022 general elections.

The Bukhungu II event was organised by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, a KANU life member and Raila diehard.

“We want to move forward with the rest of the country. Azimio la Umoja is bringing all Kenyans together and we do not want our region to be left behind,” Atwoli said when he inspected the preparation of the venue on Tuesday.

Raila arrived at the stadium accompanied by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth.

Atwoli has also arrived at Bukhungu where thousands of Raila’s supporters have gathered.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Busia Governor Sospeter Ojamong, Kisii’s James Ongwae and Kisumu’s Anyang Nyong’o are among the dignitaries who are gracing the event.
