Jubilee Party Redesigns Its Logo Dropping Association With Ruto’s URP

Date:

The ruling Jubilee Party has redesigned its logo, dropping all colours associated with United Republican Party (URP), which was its key component and allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

URP joined hands with The National Alliance (TNA) among other parties to form Jubilee Party back in 2016.

The new logo was forwarded to Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) for trademarking.

It consists of features like a dove (in place of clasped hands) and is red and white.

The black and yellow colours associated with URP have been dropped. The motto has also been changed from “Tuko Pamoja” to “Mbele Pamoja.”

Initially, the party’s logo colours were red, yellow, black and white.

The new changes might as well be a clear indication of a fall-out between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto owing to the fact that URP was Ruto’s invention.

The changes come months after Jubilee Party revealed that they are planning a major rebranding of the party.

The move could be seen as a stepping stone towards the much awaited coalition with Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Party (ODM).

Anyone who might wish to oppose the party’s new logo registration has been given a timeline till February 22, 2022, to present an objection to KIPI.
