Former NTV Journalist Moses Dola Who Killed Wife Wins Mr. Kiambu Prison 2021

Date:

Detained former NTV journalist Mr. Moses Dola Otieno recently emerged the overall best to win Mr. Kiambu Prison 2021.

Moses Dola Otieno is currently serving a 10 year sentnce for the murder of his wife former NTV journalist Wambui Kabiru.

On October 5, 2018, Moses Dola was found guilty of manslaughter following the death of the NTV journalist. Kabiru was found dead on May 1, 2011, in their house in Umoja estate.

Feeling guilty, Dola went into hiding before he  brought himself to the Naivasha police station three days later.

Apparently, Moses Dola and Wambui disagreed on Sunday May 1, 2011 after he woke up before his wife and son then put on a loud gospel music.

However, his wife who was still asleep was pissed off by the loud music and asked Moses Dola why he was interrupting them with the music.

Feeling annoyed, the late Wambui took a scissor and charged at Moses Dola who really struggled to snatch it from her according to the court records.

By then, the two were in the bedroom and they both fell on the bed although the man overpowered her, causing Wambui to smash her head on the headboard.

“Sasa ona venye umeniumiza,” Wambui said to her husband before she went silent. Those were her last words according to the Star.

The 28 year old Wambui was a rising NTV reporter. On the other hand, Dola was also  a journalist and had worked for major media houses covering crime and court cases.

Dola would then be convicted of manslaughter in November 2018 and jailed for 10 years as Wambui’s parents took their grandson, who was nine-years-old son at the time. The parents even swore that they would never give back Dola his son even after his release from the prison.

In her ruling, High Court Judge Roselyn Korir who substituted the murder charge with manslaughter, said there was no one else who could explain exactly what happened to Kabiru on that fateful day because they (Kabiru and Dola) were the only people in the bedroom when the incident occurred.

Asked by the Star at some point about the wife’s death, Moses Dola admitted that he was traumatized and that he really wanted to be in his son’s life.

“I choose not to talk about the happenings of that fateful day as it still is a traumatising issue and I would not want to evoke emotions of either party involved.

“I have a relationship to forge with my son and in-laws and that’s what is important for now,” he said.
