A video of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga looking drunk and almost falling from the vehicle has left Kenyans talking.
From the video, Raila Odinga not only looked asleep but his eyes were also blinking like those of a drunkard. As a result, the orange boss almost fell thanks to the Migori leader on his right hand side who gave him maximum support.
At the same time, Raila while on the Migori tour showed no soft spot for Nyanza residents and political leaders who are not in his party.
While speaking in a local dialect at Awendo in Migori, Raila in a dictatorial voice made it clear that no one should ever defect from the orange party since that disadvantages his ODM from getting money from the Political Parties Funds.
The opposition leader made it clear that a vote that goes to an independent party is a wasted vote by virtue of the fact that his ODM party stands to lose money.
“You get defeated then go and vie as an independent candidate. Independent candidates spoil for ODM party the opportunity to get money from the government. Votes cast for independent candidates are wasted, are you getting me?
“You must know that political parties’ funds are paid depending on the number of votes the party garnered. They add votes for the MCAs, for the MPs, for the governors, for the senators, for the women reps and finally for the presidents then they divide money on that basis
“That is why if you’re from the party and you contest as an independent candidate and get support from party members, that is like a spoiled vote you get me?
“Therefore we want those from ODM to remain in ODM but if you’re not in ODM go away!!!!!” Said Raila amidst chants from sections of the crowd in Awendo.
The ODM leader has been crisscrossing the nation in a bid to sell his Azimio La Umoja gospel ahead of the 2022 general elections which is scheduled to culminate into a bigger rally at the Kasarani stadium on 10th December 2021.
In the meantime, President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday took a swipe at Deputy president William Samoei Ruto and his close allies for always referring to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga as an old man (mzee).
While speaking in Nakuru county, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that leadership has nothing to do with age as is being propelled by deputy president Ruto and his team, insisting that it has everything to do with the brain.
As a result, he urged those people referring to others as unable to go slow lest they get shocked by the turn of events.
DP Ruto and his allies have on several occasions criticized the leadership ability of Raila Odinga on the basis that he is too old.
According to these leaders, Kenyans ought to ignore Raila Odinga and elect them because they are younger than him in terms of age
“Fikirieni na msikimbie. Msikuje na speed. Speed inaangusha jameni. afadhali polepole nsa ufike pahali ambapo ulikuwa unafika, unaniskiza? Mnaniskiza nyinyi? mnanielewa? Mkikuja ati sijui ati mzee hafai tunataka kijana namna hii uyu ako namna hii uyu nako namna ile mtu anachagua na ubongo bana .” Said Uhuru in defence of Raila from Ruto’s endless attacks.
