“Hakuna Kununua Subaru Forester” Safaricom Refunds Money Donated To Shirleen Mukami’s M-Changa

Date:

Safaricom has finally come to the rescue of unsuspecting Kenyans who were duped into contributing towards Shirleen Mukami’s fake cause.

Shirleen and her baby daddy Kenneth Gachie Kabuga alias Cabu Gah had raised Ksh814,117 after they hoodwinked well-wishers into contributing towards the fake cause.

The 20-year-old received immense emotional and material support when she went public with her struggle in raising her child as a single mother.

Shirleen narrated how she had been abandoned by the child’s father, claiming she had been forced to drop out of school to raise the child.

She said that she had launched an organization dubbed ‘Baby Shower Sisters’ that would help support other young mothers facing similar situations in life.

Moved by her sob story, Kenyans in their thousands sent their contributions to Shirleen. Within two days, contributions had hit half a million shillings. As at Monday, November 15, contributions had hit Ksh814,117.

But before Shirleen and her baby daddy could walk away with the money raise, blogger Edgar Obare blew the lid off their scam.

Obare exposed Shirleen for conspiring with her baby daddy to defraud unsuspecting well-wishers, revealing how the lass was coached to fleece Kenyans.

In a seven-page slideshow, Obare uploaded screenshots from Cabu Gah’s conversation with his friend bragging how his trick had worked and how he would buy a new car with money raised.

The friend advised Shirleen’s baby daddy to buy a Subaru Forester and also begged him for some cash. Apparently the motive scam was to buy a new vehicle after his car was written off following an accident.

Well, following Obare’s exposé and public outcry, Safaricom decided to intervene and blocked Shirleen’s M-Changa account ‘Baby Shower Sisters’.

Well-wishers who contributed towards Shirleen’s fake cause are being refunded back their money by Safaricom – no Subaru Forester for her baby daddy.
