MP William Chepkut Opens Up On Events That Led To His Hospitalization

Date:

Anaibkoi MP William Chepkut has opened up on the accident that led to him being hospitalized for two months now.

In an interview with a local daily, the Jubilee MP said that his troubles started in July 2021 when he fell while at a hotel. Chepkut said that he tripped after missing a step and rolled several meters on the ground.

“I fainted and was rushed to the hospital where I received treatment and was discharged. I took it lightly and went back home [to rest] before travelling to Uganda to undertake other duties.” Chepkut narrated.

Just around the same time, the lawmaker suffered two more accidents after he visited Dubai where a consultant advised him to undergo surgery.

“Around the same time, I suffered two other accidents that totally affected me,” he said

The MP however did not delve into the nature of the accidents he encountered but just explained the injuries he suffered.

“I fractured my hand and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors stated that I was in critical injury and I was immediately transferred to the Intensive Care Unit,” Chepkut said.

Later on he was rushed to theatre and subjected to a 36-hour long surgery when the issue escalated. The doctors repaired his damaged limbs and arms.

Chepkut however assured his followers that he would come out of the situation strong. He mentioned an instance where he survived a poisoning incident noting that he would not be deterred on his journey to recovery.

Several leaders paid him a visit following his hospitalization in October, including Kapseret MP, Oscar Sudi and Deputy President William Ruto’s brother, David Ruto.

“Today we paid a visit to Anabkoi MP Hon. William Chepkut at the hospital where he is treated for injuries sustained after a fall. I wish him a quick recovery,” David tweeted.

DP Ruto and President Kenyatta also reached out to the MP. Chepkut is still hospitalized at a city hospital.
