Kikuyu vernacular singer Shiru wa-GP has revealed her husband impregnated a church girl because of pressure and not out of the usual lust that makes men cheat.
The award-winning gospel singer opened up about her marital woes while speaking during an interview on Kameme FM.
Shiru wa-GP said that her marriage nearly crumbled because of childlessness, she had difficulty conceiving.
After getting married to her husband, the Kikuyu vernacular singer desperately tried having a child for nearly a decade in vain.
Her husband ultimately cheated on her and impregnated a church girl after they tried to conceive for nine long years.
Interestingly, Shiru wa-GP conceived when the church girl her husband knocked up was five months pregnant.
By the time she got pregnant, Shiru wa-GP had spent millions of shillings to treat her infertility and was on the verge of losing hope.
“The pressure led to my husband impregnating our church mate. While the girl was five months pregnant, I conceived with twins and I was so excited,” Shiru wa-GP said.
The award-winning gospel singer got pregnant with twins in 2014. However, she nearly lost her twins as she gave birth prematurely to a boy and a girl.
The babies who were born at seven months at Nairobi women’s hospital, they were placed in incubators and the bill shot to a staggering Ksh4.5 million.
Shiru wa-GP’s family and friends called for a fundraiser and the event was organized by former Kameme radio presenter Njogu wa Njoroge.
It caught the attention of President Uhuru Kenyatta who donated Ksh1 million and the bill was cleared.
Unfortunately, Shiru wa-GP’s son passed away after contracting TB but her daughter Wambui bounced back and is now enrolled in school.
Shiru wa-GP is now a proud mother of two children even though she lost her son. She took in the other child her husband sired with the church girl, her family is still intact despite the cheating scandal.
