Comedian and radio presenter Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o is set to run for the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat in the August 2022 general elections.
His bid in the coming elections has been received warmly by most of his fans.
The comedian has however requested Kenyans to stop referring to him as Mheshimiwa until he earns the title by working for the people.
In an Instagram post, Jalang’o said that his journey in politics is becoming more and more fascinating.
“Life is very beautiful and really strange. I have openly declared my candidature for Langata as the next member of Parliament! Oh my ! It has been a roller coaster and a beautiful journey!” the comedian remarked.
“Everyone now calls me mweshimiwa and I get suprised and confused!! Yes! How do you call yourself mweshimiwa when the people you represent are still hungry, angry, hopeless and almost giving up in life! How do you sleep in peace knowing you are mweshimiwa and there is nothing to show for it?” Jalang’o posed.
He went on to bash his critics who say that he will forget the promises he made to the people once he ascends to power.
“They say Jalas is just talking because he is not in yet! Akiingia atasahau! I hope I dont! Thats why my slogan is UTU NA WATU! HUMANITY AND PEOPLE!!” he added.

So please don’t call me mweshimiwa until I have done the work to deserve that name!!” he added.
Jalang’o is set to resign from his radio job on February 9, 2022 to fully focus on his campaigns.
In an interview with Radio Jambo, he said that his priority is to fight corruption that has been a threat to the country’s development.
