BuruBuru Girls Escape Through The Window After Their Dorm Catches Fire

Date:

A school dormitory in Buruburu girls located in Makadara constituency mysteriously caught fire on Sunday evening.

According to a report by a local publication, many students at BuruBuru Girls were feared trapped inside their dormitories as the fire razed down the dormitory.

According to the video circulated online, some students escaped through the windows in a bid to save their lives from the unfortunate Sunday evening incident.

The news was confirmed by the Nairobi police boss Augustine Nthumbi who revealed that firefighters and the police officers had been deployed to the scene to save the situation.

On his side, the OCPD of Embakasi Francis Ngugi made it clear that they were already on the ground gathering more information with regards to the safety of the students.

This incident comes just a few days after fire razed down property of unknown value at the famous Gikomba market, which is situated at the heart of Nairobi town.

The inferno, that its cause was not immediately established, started on the Southern part of the open-air market, opposite the Jua Kali section and adjacent to Muthurwa Primary School, located in Pumwani.

Kamukunji Member of Parliament Hon. Yusuf Hajji broke the news of the dawn inferno and expressed disappointment that it was becoming a perennial thing that traders would be losing their property under unclear circumstances.

“Saddened that the section of the market has been gutted by yet another fire and traders are to face incalculable losses,” Yusuf wrote.

“A fierce fire is raging in the southern part of the Gikomba Market opposite Jua Kali and adjacent to Muthurwa Primary School in Pumwani. Firefighters from various government units, including the KDF, are on the ground battling to bring the blaze under control,” the MP, whose constituency Gikomba market is situated, added.

That was not the first time that fire razed down the market. Just a couple of months ago, another fire gutted down a section of the market and left many families jobless as millions of wares and premises were brought down to ashes.
