DP Ruto Allies Respond To President Kenyatta Call Urging Kenyans Not To Vote For Thieves

Date:

Deputy president William Ruto’s allies have responded to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s call urging Kenyans not to vote for thieves.

Speaking in Kajiado during a tour to popularize UDA’s agenda and the hustler movement, Garissa township Member of Parliament Aden Duale said that president Kenyatta’s remarks were demeaning to voters who voted for the president and Ruto in 2013 and 2017 respectively.

“You are telling us the eight million jubilee supporters in your own leadership are full of conmen and crooks and thieves. That is an insult to the Jubilee family and your supporters,” stated Duale.

He urged President Kenyatta to use his instruments of power in identifying those whom he thinks are thieves instead of addressing the issue in public rallies.

“You have the instrument of power. The National Intelligence Service falls under you, you have the EACC, you have the DCI, you have the Auditor General. Use those and tell the country. Be specific. A leader must talk with specificity,” Duale said.

The meeting was attended by UDA members as well as the Deputy President.

Mumias  East MP Benjami Washiali complained about president Kenyatta’s attempts to block DP from rising to the country’s top position after the 2022 general elections by branding him  a thief.

He further said that those who stole from the covid-19 funds walked away scot free.

While addressing a crowd at Ruiru on Friday, October 29, The head of state urged locals not to vote for thieves in the coming elections.

He told the people to be very careful with the people they vote for as some of them have plans of stealing from the public. He asked them to elect leaders who would further his legacy and that of former president Mwai Kibaki.

The president also urged the public to tone down at a time when political temperatures were increasing.
