“Si Umzike Tu’- Kenyans Tell Masten Wanjala’s Father After Asking For Help To Bury Son

Date:

Aggrieved Kenyans on Saturday told off Masten Wanjala’s father after he asked for help to give his son a decent send-off.

Apparently, Robert Wanjala, the father of the self-confessed killer Masten Wanjala  appealed to the government to come to his aid prior to burying his son.

The poor father spoke in Bungoma county after the mob mercilessly lynched his son under mysterious circumstances.

“Ningeomba tu hata serikali wanisaidie kwa sababu mimi sijiwezi, sina nyuma wala mbele, ningeomba tu wanisaidie, baada ya shugli kuisha, mtoto wangu waniletee mimi mwenyewe nizike (Loosely translated: I urge the government to come to my rescue because i have nothing to cater for his burial. I also encourage them to bring my son after all the processes are complete so that i bury her on my own”) He said.

However, Kenyans were quick to dismiss the father in the comment sections with some literally being angered by his appeal for help. “Wewe kwenda huko na uyo mtoto wako muuaji. Huwezi omba usaidizi na jamaa ameua watoto 13 za watu. Uyo unaeza mzika tu labda utuambie tukusaidie kuchimba shimo.” Said a social media user.

At the same time, Masten Wanjala’s father admitted that he was told his son was spotted at Mukweya while being lynched, but he was too sad and scared to go to the scene.

“Nilipata huzuni , unajua alikuwa mtoto yangu, na hikuwa kupenda kwake, Ilikuwa kupenda kwa mama yake,” Mr. Wanjala said.

Strangely, he blamed his former wife for the son’s poor upbringing as he recalled how Masten Wanjala confessed to him that it was the mother who introduced him to all those criminal activities.

“Akaniambia, baba, naomba msamaha, nimekuharibia jina, unisamehe tu, mimi nikasema baba mimi sina abaya na wewe,”  Mastern Wanjala’s father told Citizen Digital.

“Akaniambia ati mama yangı ndio alinipeleka kwa hii maneno, hata nikikufa, nitakufa kwa jina ya mama yangu,”

In addition, the father added that his son looked strange after he came to see him with a scary hairstyle despite being a school going child. To improve how he looked, the father took him to the barber shop then booked him to school. All these happened in 2017.

“Mtoto alikuwa amechora kichwa… amechora kichwa… ilikuwa 2017, nikamuuliza mama yake hii ni shule gani inakubai mtoto shuleni akiwa hivi,” he posed.
