Kipchumba Murkomen Accuses President Kenyatta of Being A Hypocrite

Date:

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has asked president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop being a hypocrite in the fight against Corona Virus.

Murkomen asked the president to stop all the pretense and lift the 10 pm-4 am nationwide curfew.

According to Murkomen it is not fair for the president to impose curfew on ordinary Kenyans while him together with other politicians are conducting political rallies in different parts of the country.

Speaking at Keben Secondary school in Belgut, Kericho County on Friday, October 15, Murkomen said that curfew is only benefitting the political elite as compared to ordinary Kenyans.

“The people who are suffering are more than the people benefiting from the curfew. We are urging President Uhuru Kenyatta to stop the hypocrisy. There are rallies all over today; Raila has a rally in Eldoret; Raila and Uhuru had a rally in Kibera; Deputy President has a rally in Mombasa,” Murkomen stated.

He further asked the president to stop making it look like Corona virus spreads more at night than during the day while urging him to lift the curfew before October 20.

This comes barely weeks after Tourism CS  Najib Balala hinted that curfew might end in a month’s time.

The government also extended the nationwide curfew for a period of 30 days in October 4.

“We have decided to extend the containment measures by another 30 days because we have not been sufficiently vaccinated,” Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said.
