President Kenyatta Disappoints Kenyans By Bringing JKIA, Mombasa Road To A Standstill

Normal business at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was temporarily stopped on as President Uhuru Kenyatta jetted in the country.

The president came back to the country on Friday October 15 after a week long trip in the United States.

Flights in and out of the country were stopped as the head of state was welcomed by traditional dancers and government officials.

Travelers complained as they were denied opportunity to move around the airport with some of them taking to social media to express their dissatisfaction over the delays of their flights.

Other Kenyans also complained about traffic jam that was experienced along Mombasa Road. Here are some of the reactions:

 

President Kenyatta was in the US for an official state visit where he chaired United Nations Security Council (UNSC) high-level open debate on diversity, state-building and peace.

On Thursday October 14, he met with the US president Joe Biden. President Kenyatta becomes the first African president to be hosted by  Biden at the white house. The two leaders discussed strong US-Kenya bilateral relationship and the need to bring transparency and accountability to domestic and international financial systems.

They further efforts to defend democracy and human rights, advance peace, accelerate economic growth, and tackle climate change.
