Raila Odinga’s Daughter Winnie Speaks About Her Wedding Plans

Winnie Odinga, the last born daughter of ODM leader Raila Odinga and Ida Odinga has opened up about her marriage plans.

In a meeting with youths from Mt. Kenya at the University of Nairobi on Tuesday, Winnie hilariously said that she plans to get married in 2022 at the statehouse.

“Ngugi nimeskia you are looking for a second wife, people are always telling me that… Tell them that I said.. Winnie Odinga will get married in 2022, on the lawns of State House,” said Winnie.

She went ahead to invite Kenyans to join her in celebrating her big while urging them to first register as voters.

“And you are all invited, so if you want that to happen, go register to vote,” a cheerful Winnie advised.

In her address, she recounted how she stayed long period without seeing her father because most of the time he was busy fighting for Kenyans.

“I remember my father was always working, and I always wanted to wait for him,” recounted Winnie.

She said that at one time, she questioned her father why he was always spending most of his time away from home. To answer her, Raila took her to one of the rallies where she met a huge crow.

“If you live a good life, then they must live better than you. If you think you deserve the best, they deserve better. If you walk around thinking you deserve the world, then you must give them the universe” Raila allegedly  told Winnie.

“If you want something, you have to fight for it. No one will get it for you. You have to fight,” she remarked.

She however acknowledged her father’s effort even though he is not with her always.

“I see this man fight, and I wonder, why can’t he just stay home with us? But I have realized we have to join the fight and go with him,” explained Winnie.

She urged the crowd to join the fight by registering as voters since it was them the that Raila had fought for.

” You are the one he spent 8 years in detention for, you are the ones he spent long nights out for, and you are the ones he shakes hands for. Join the fight by first registering as voters,” she stated.
