Ruto’s Ally Publicly Declares That He Will Deny Voters Bursaries

Date:

Deputy President William Ruto’s ally and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro has publicly told his constituents that he will not offer them any bursary.

Speaking On Monday, Osoro warned his constituents that he will give them bursaries if they fail to register as voters in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

In return, the lawmaker asked the youths to turn out in large numbers and register as voters if they don’t want to miss out on the bursaries.

He noted that a voter’s card will be a mandatory requirement during the application for the bursaries in his constituency.

“In one month, we will be announcing bursaries. Applications will be done using your voter’s card and not your national identification card,” Osoro said as reported by Kenyans.

Osoro further noted that the underage applicant will have to issue their parents’ or guardians’ voter’s cards to qualify for the fund drive.

While urging his constituents to register as voters, the outspoken MP also used the opportunity to drum up support for DP William Ruto

He told the youth that the only way they could ensure the DP wins next year’s election is by voting for him which they can only do if they have a voter’s card.

“If you do not have a voters card, walk into a registration center with your ID and get a voters card. However much we love William Ruto, if we don’t have voting cards, we have not helped him,” the legislature said.
