Mystery As DCI Lose Important Files In Alleged Arson

Date:

DCI officers in Garsen police station, Tana River County are counting losses after a fire broke down at their station and burnt all their documents and case files in a suspected arson.

The fire is said to have completely burnt down the office, destroying all of the officers’ important documents and files.

According to reports, the witness established that the building’s timber wall was on fire before it spread to nearby buildings.

The police staying around the station are said to have tried to stop the fire from spreading to the other building but their efforts bore no fruits. The fire ended up burning down all the offices.

“Officers who live near the office tried to extinguish the fire using nearby tap water and other means but were in vain. The office block was completely destroyed by the inferno and nothing was salvaged,” the police report said.

According to preliminary investigations, the fire started on the Southern part of the office block. The police also believe that the fire was not an accident but was started by someone.

“From the look of things the fire was as a result of an arson attack, we are trying to find out what was the motive,” a source told a local publication.
