Authorities in Spain are investigating an incident where by a Kenyan woman allegedly bit off and ate fingers of a Congolese woman.
The two are said to have been sharing a room at a Poligono Norte apartment together with the suspect’s six year old daughter.
It is alleged that the 45-year old pounced on the victim and ate two of her fingers in order to exorcise her after believing that she was possessed by evil spirits.
A Spanish publication also reported that the suspect also tried to disembowel the victim by pushing a stone through the victim’s anus.
The incident happened in their room in presence of the minor.
According to the police, the brawl started as a verbal argument before it turned physical after the suspect accused her roommate of witchcraft saying she was possessed.
She is said to have hit the victim on the head with a stone, threw her on the floor before biting off two fingers.
The locals alerted the police who found the suspect on top of the 48-year old victim who was bleeding profusely.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the argument began after the Congolese woman hurled a bottle of salty water towards the suspect.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment while the suspect was restrained in a psychiatric ward and later detained in a police cell.
The incident happened on September 18 but the details were only made public recently.
The suspect’s daughter was taken into foster care. The Family and Women Assistance Unit (UFAM) of the Sevilla Police is currently investigating the incident.
