Allies of the deputy president William Samoei Ruto have been on a video editing mode as Raila Odinga successfully climb the mountain.
On Sunday, the opposition leader had a stop over at Laikipia near a petrol station and addressed the locals without any altercations.
Apparently, the same video was shared by William Ruto allies showing Raila being booed by the angry crowds who were chanting “Ruto.”
Sonko News has since established that the video where Raila was being booed by the rowdy youths was fake and edited in a bid to mislead Kenyans.
On the same note, the Orange Democratic Movement leader on Monday had a successful rally in Githurai without any commotions but the same had a completely different version of him being booed.
That some entities went to the extent of editing videos to portray Raila’s presence in Mt. Kenya as “selling pork in mosques” is a matter that baffles me.
It is important to note that no one, even me, would have a problem if the ODM leader had an hostile reception in those regions since that is part and parcel of politics.
However, my problem only arises when videos are edited (whether for Raila or Ruto) with the sole objective of pleasing the master and misleading Kenyans.
That is why credible news platforms such as Sonko News is there to debunk such fake news and rumors so that Kenyans continuously get the right information. Just recently, the deputy president had one of the best receptions in Migori county and it would have been equally wrong to edit the same as if he was getting booed.
Just for your confirmation, you need to visit the opposition leader’s Facebook wall and follow the live event in the above-mentioned areas to agree that the videos being shared by DP Ruto allies such as Kimilili member of parliament Didmus Barasa were not only edited but also very fake.
