The Trouble That Awaits Kalonzo If He Decides To Back Raila In 2022 Elections

Date:

Ukambani leaders have declared that they will abandon Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka if he decides to support Raila Odinga once again.

In a press briefing, Kalonzo’s allies warned him that he was going to be alone if he chooses to support ODM leader in the coming 2022 general elections.

“Should our party leader ever make the decision to support the Rt. Hon Raila Amolo Odinga for presidency, we respectfully assure him of two very painful outcomes,” the leaders said in a statement that was read by Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua.

Aside from being left to walk alone, the leaders said that Kalonzo will also not be forgiven by his supporters across the country and his Kamba community for choosing to walk that path.

“What we are saying that our people are saying is Kalonzo cannot support Raila again. We can support any other person within OKA but not Raila,” Wambua said.

Other leaders present during the press briefing include; Irene Kasalu (Kitui Woman Representative), Dan Maanzo (Makueni), Makai Mulu (Kitui Central), Edith Nyenze (Kitui West) and Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi).

The leaders confirmed that the whole of Kamba community supports One Kenya Alliance (OKA) while urging the principals of the coalition not to be swayed.

“We encourage our principals to stand firmly together and fight off any attempt, explicit and or veiled by any person to divide them,” the statement reads.

According to Mulu, Raila-Kalonzo ticket would mean doing the same thing the same way and expecting a different result.

“What our people are saying is that they don’t have anything personal against Raila, but what they are saying is they have supported Raila two times but nothing has happened,” Mulu said.

Kalonzo was Raila’s running mate in both the 2013 and 2017 General Elections.
