Kenya has recorded 3o more coronavirus cases bringing the total to 456 being the highest number recorded across all the East African countries thus far.
Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman said the new cases are from 883 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours.
19 new cases have been recorded from Mombasa with 8 coming from Nairobi with Bungoma recording 2 cases and 1 from Kitui.
The two patients from Bungoma are both truck drivers as noted by Dr. Aman.
Out of the 30 cases announced on Sunday, 23 are male and seven are female with their ages ranging from 4 to 64 years.
There have been 15 more recoveries and two deaths with both fatalities coming from Mombasa.
The death toll from coronavirus now stands at 24.
The total number of counties with coronavirus is 16.
“We are appealing to Kenyans in targeted areas such as Kawangware to come forward to be tested if we want to flatten the curve,” the CAS said, “Some eateries are operating without adhering to curfew and social distancing…Matatu operators also not observing the measures…Mosques have revised prayer time and opening at night…they must stop this practice immediately failure legal action to be taken,”
