Dennis Kapchok, commonly known as Mulumulwas has gone missing.
Mulumulwas was allegedly abducted on Friday afternoon from his Kapenuria home in West Pokot by people who introduced themselves as DCI detectives.
It is said Mulumulwas trouble began after insulting Senate Majority Leader and West Pokot Senator Samual Poghisio on social media.
According to his family together with the Pokot MP David Pkosing, the whereabouts of Mulumulwas is still unknown.
“I spoke with West Pokot County Police Commander, Jackson Tumwet, who told me that Mulumulwas was not booked at the Kapenguria Police Station,” Pkosing told K24.
“Many people, who have been critical of government officials and persons in positions of power, have often been abducted and found dead a few days later. We hope Mulumulwas’ case won’t end in such a manner,” he added.
The legislature who is also a neighbor to Mulumulwa noted that just a year an area resident was also kidnapped by people “who claimed they were investigative officers, only for the victim to be found dead days later”.
The MP said the government should move fats to either release the activist or find him “before it’s too late”.
“Tension is rising at Mulumulwas’s home and the neighborhood. The anxiety should be managed. His family is already distressed,” said Pkosing.
Mulumulwa’s lawyer, Philip Magal told the local media that he was not aware of the whereabouts of his client.

“I spoke with him (Mulumulwas) on phone yesterday (Friday, October 23), and he told me he was being driven to the capital, Nairobi. His phone was unreachable, thereafter,” Magal told K24.
The lawyer said when he contacted the DCI, he was told Mulumulwas was taken to Nairobi for interrogation for unknown reasons.
