Anonymous group hacks Bank, credits 5,000k to current account holders

The dreaded hacking group, Anonymous is having a field in Nigeria, under the guise of supporting the ongoing protests against police brutality.
The group lately hacked GTBank and credited N5,000 to all current account customers.
This was disclosed by customers of the Guarantee Trust Bank (GTBank) who have taken to Twitter to trend “Gtbank” on the app’s Top Trends section.

The hacking of the bank comes in the wake of the group hacking several institutions including NBC, CBN, DStv, GOtv and Airtel.

In their message to Nigerian President Buhari, they vowed to commence immediate hacking of government database if he fails to heed to the cries of #EndSARS protesters.

The group has now swung into action as they are now on a hacking spree, targeted at Nigerian government websites and social media pages.

 

 

In a series of tweets, the group asked Nigerians to suggest which government organization they want them to hack next.

According to the group, they are out to expose Nigerian government secrets and dirty files.

They also noted they have nothing to gain but are however lending support to Nigerians to agitate for a better country.

KEY POINTS:

The now global #EndSARS campaign has been on for over ten days as protesters agitate for police reform and better governance in Nigeria.

The protests have attracted the attention of the global elite including that of Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
