So Sad, Pogba Dies Of Fever !

It is a sad week for traditional sports lovers from Kakamega country after the sudden death of one Malinya Pogba.

Pogba is said to have a series of health complications troubling for the last few months and gave up the fight on Friday night.

The bull is said to have died from fever.

According to a Facebook post by former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, the animal was suffering from East Coast fever.

The 2016 bullfight champion took the reigns from the late Iminyi in an exciting event held in Malinya village.

“The great Malinya Pogba is gone. Gone to rest with Iminyi the G.O.AT. He has just succumbed to East Coast Fever. Long live the king of the beautiful game,” the former senator mourned.

Bullfighting has always been practiced by members of the Luhya community to mark important events including funerals.

The sport has, however, evolved to become a more competitive, and sometimes profitable pursuit and tension normally run high during the sport.

The sport is an up-close and personal experience, with huge excited crowds normally following the action and running occasionally to avoid getting hit.

The politician who is also referred to as the “Bullfighter” is known for organizing and popularising such events that are close to the hearts of people from the Luhya community.

In July this year, Boni urged locals to slam the breaks on the festivities including the bullfighting unit the coronavirus was contained.
