The Lands Cabinet Secretary, Farida Karoney is in mourning after her father was involved in a road accident.
Mr. Edward Kiprotich Karoney, Faridah’s father was hit by a speeding motorbike while crossing the road.
Farida Karoney’s late father was 74 years old.
Nandi County Police Commander confirmed the incident saying the deceased was pronounced dead at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital where he was rushed for treatment almost immediately after the accident.
Witnesses said the accident happened between 2 and 3 pm, moments after he had parked his vehicle as he was out attending a meeting.

President Uhuru Kenyatta sent out a message of condolences to the Karoney’s family during these trying times.
Leaders led by Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang were among the first people to arrive at the Hospital to condole with the family moments after Mzee was pronounced dead.
