A day after his convoy was blocked by the police while he was heading to the Coastal region, Tanzania official opposition leader Tundu Lissu bravely visited the Kariakoo market, Dar es Salaam.
According to the information released by his party, the Chadema Presidential candidate was set to use public transport from Kinondoni Morocco via Morogoro Road to Kariakoo – one of the busiest markets in East and Central African.
Lissu immediately shared a video of himself on a bus where he was seen happily interacting with locals.
On arrival at Kariakoo, Lissu disembarked at the Msimbazi BRT station where he was received by hundreds of supporters who were chanting the party slogan.
Escorted by private security, the Presidential candidate went on to some personal shopping of groceries from vendors in Kariakoo market.

While passing through the narrow streets of Kariakoo, Lissu interacted with some traders asking them about the challenges they face in their businesses.
It is not however clear whether Lissu was campaigning after National Electoral Commission suspended his campaigns for seven days.
Police have earlier accused the politician of planning to hold an unlawful assembly in the Coastal Region resulting in his convoy being blocked. He was however later allowed to proceed to Kibaha where he held a series of meeting with party cadres.
