Oscar Sudi to spend 7 more days in Police custody

Oscar Sudi is to remain in police custody for the next seven days pending completion of investigations into the allegations leveled against him.

Nakuru Law Courts Chief Magistrate Josephat Kalo on Wednesday ruled out an application by the prosecution to detail Kapsaret Member of Parliament, Oscar Sudi for 14 more days.

Sudi is charged with hate speech, offensive conduct, resisting arrest, being in unlawful possession of a firearm, and assault of a police officer.

In solidarity with him, a group of legislators showed up for the court session among them being Elgeyo Marakwet’s Senator, Kipchumba Murkomen.

Oscar Sudi who insisted that he had not insulted anyone with his social media video that has since gone viral was arrested for alleged offensive remarks made against President Uhuru Kenyatta, and former First lady, Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

He was previously arraigned at the Nakuru Law Courts on Monday where he was detained at the Nakuru Police Station for two days.
