DCI To Conduct ID Parade To Officers Threatening Senator Malala

Date:

DCI George Kinoti said they are ready to conduct an ID parade to identify men who are allegedly plotting to kill Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.

Kinoti told the Senate on Monday he had received a picture from Senator Malala of the alleged ‘policemen’.

“The senator sent me a picture of five men who purportedly want to kill him. If they are existing ..we are ready to do an ID parade,” Kinoti said.

“let this matter be subjected to independent investigations. We are ready to submit ourselves and accord any assistance to these investigations because we are the accused.”

Kinoti added he was shocked by the allegations leveled against his office led by Malala.

“Why would be allocated all those resources to assassinate you for a Covid-19 offense. It does not make any sense at all,” he said.

Senator Malala however maintained that some officers from the DCI had been assigned to kill him.

Malala had even produced a photo of the alleged assassins and showed them to Kinoti who swore he had never seen such people.

During the Senate seating, Malala broke down in tears as he narrated to two Seate Committees how the five police officers had allegedly been trying to assassinate him.

Speaking to the Justice and Legal Affairs Committees and National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations Committee, an emotional Malala claimed the five assassins were from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

“I am a husband and a young father. The most painful thing is that I am being accused of stage-managing my arrest on August 17,” Malala said while holding back tears.
