5 Killed in Grisly Accident on Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Five people have been confirmed dead following a tragic road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway in Nakuru County.

The accident happened on Sunday, December 31 morning after a trailer rammed into a 14-seater matatu at the Eveready Roundabout.

Several passengers were injured in the grisly accident and were rushed to the Nakuru Teaching and Referral Hospital for medical attention.

A wreckage of the trailer involved in the accident shared by National Police Service.

According to reports, the trailer which was coming from Eldoret lost its brakes and bumped into the matatu.

The matatu was badly damaged following the accident.

By the time of this publication, rescue operations were still ongoing with police officers trying to clear traffic which was building up in the area due to the accident.

Today 31/12/2023 at around 0720hrs, five passengers lost their lives on the spot through a tragic fatal road traffic accident that occurred at Eveready Roundabout along Eldoret -Nakuru Highway.

The driver of the trailer Reg No.KCG 355Y/ZE1279 lost control and rammed into a Matatu belonging to Ngata Sacco Matatu which in turn rammed onto another trailer KDB 341D/ZG4149 Actross.

Several other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital for treatment.
