Former Tahidi High actor Ben Mwangi, popularly known as Mr. Mweposi has not lost hope of returning to the screen to entertain Kenyans.
Mweposi is also among Kenyan entertainers whose life changed for the worse after life on the screens.
Speaking to Mutembei TV, Mweposi said that his story is of triumph and he is struggling so much that he can get back on his feet.
“When I fall down, I won’t continue lying on the ground, I will wake up, shake of the dust and walk again. Am getting back like I never left,” he said.
At some point, he struggled with depression and turned into alcoholism. In the past, a picture of him lying in a ditch after drinking heavily went viral. He however promises that that part of him is now history and Kenyans will never see that again.
The actor, who played the role of a Swahili teacher in the popular drama, decided to relocate from Nairobi to his home in Karatina where he is undertaking farming.
He has a sickly mother and a mentally and physically challenged brother. Mweposi too is on drugs but he says he is strong and he needs to support his family.

Mweposi is 51-years old. This year in September he will be turning 52 years old.
He studied Journalism and Mass Communication at Mombasa Polytechnic. His first job was at Baraka FM in Mombasa.
He used to be a vocal artist and he is the voice behind some of the popular radio advertisements such as the co-operative bank advert. He has worked with Milele and Citizen radio stations as a voice artist. He also used to be a news presenter at night on Citizen radio.
Mweposi is a father. He however separated with his wife and child. The separation occurred back in 2011 and that made him sink deeper into depression but he said that he will soon reunite with his family.
“I had given up, but after looking at who I was, I have a family I am blessed with great children that are respectful and I would love them to have a good life. After looking at them and seeing that I have a future, I said I will not live such a life,” he said.
Mweposi is a farmer. Back at his home in Karatina, he engages himself with organic farming. He has planted berries, vegetables, pepper, tomatoes and onions though not on a large scale.
