Kylian Mbappe has reportedly become the seventh Paris Saint-Germain player to test positive for coronavirus, reports the Mirror.
The French World Cup winner has been ruled out of France’s match against Croatia on Tuesday night after delivering a positive test result, according to France Football.
Mbappe started for the national team against Sweden on Saturday night and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.
But he is now set to return the team even if he proves to be asymptomatic as he joins several stars who have contracted the virus at PSG.
A recent trip to Ibiza recently saw Mauro Icardi, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes test positive.
Neymar, Keylor Navas and Marquinhos have since also tested positive with Mbappe’s latest case leaving the beaten Champions League finalists in disarray.
They are due to return to Ligue 1 action at Lens on September 10 before hosting Marseille on September 13.
But Mbappe is now set to miss those games as he is expected to have to self-isolate before returning to action.
French league guidelines state the more than three positive cases at a club would likely to lead to a postponement meaning PSG could be unable to play the games.
Last Thursday, the club tweeted: “The latest tests carried out within the Paris Saint-Germain squad confirm the result of three new positive cases.
